Since Halloween landed on a Saturday this year, I feel like we got to celebrate the holiday more than usual! Friday, Ry had to dress up for work (don't know about dentists performing surgeries in full costume but at least they have a sense of humor I guess!) Ry was the guy from Pirates of the Caribbean and Dr. Garcia was Don Esquis... those two are two were meant for each other. Friday night I prepared my scallop corn chowder and baked a chocolate pumpkin cake, it was delicious!
Saturday we went to the Pumpkin Patch and picked out our pumpkin, it was so neat to go to a REAL pumpkin patch!
Since it was such a beautiful Halloween day, we went to Crystal Cove beach and took a nice walk along the ocean- we are so lucky to have such weather this time of year.
After our walk, followed by our second trip to Peet's of the day (we spend way too much money over there!) we came home and Ry carved our pumpkin. I toasted the seeds of course- my favorite! We had about 7 groups of trick-or-treaters so we were happy to get at least SOME action.
After dinner, we got dressed up into our costumes and headed over to Kim and Jon's for a Halloween party. Ry was a dentist from New York (exposed chest, gold chain, accent and all) and I was his naughty assistant!
Kim and Jon were so sweet to host us, Kim is quite the hostess and we are so happy to have them in our lives!
We got to party with a great group of friends and we had so much fun catching up, taking jello shots and even vodka shots (way too strong for me)!
Hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend, nothing like being with the people you love most!
