Eli & Sam's Wedding in SF & Napa for Lunch

One of our first trips together since Ry has been back, Eli and Sam were getting married in San Francisco so we decided to make a weekend out of it! We flew into SFO and checked into the Harbor Court, our favorite little spot in SF. Since Ry was a groomsman, I dropped him off at the base where the wedding was being held and I spent some time strolling around Filmore and Union Square... I love the city!

After exploring around, it was time to get dressed and head over to ceremony. Eli and Sam had a lovely ceremony in a historic church on the old base followed by a reception dinner in one of the halls on base. It was very special and we are so happy for them! We got to hang out with all of Ry's friends and re-live old times... we had a great time. Since the wedding was over pretty early, we went back to our room and ordered a bottle of wine and a movie and stayed in! It was so nice and relaxing to enjoy our room.

Sunday morning we got up and I could hardly wait to get our butts over to The Ferry Building for Peet's coffee and breakfast! Afterwards, we strolled around all the artisan shops, I could seriously live in the Ferry Building.. yes I'm obsessed!

After checking out of the hotel, we headed to Napa to meet Ry's parents and sister for some wine tasting and lunch! We had the most amazing lunch on the patio at Auberge... perfect all around! It was such a treat.

Then we tasted wines at none other than Rombauer and them Schramsberg... another perfect day in Napa with the Conkle's! We had such a great weekend, I did not want to leave.

Our First Dinner & Ry Cooks!

Did I mention how excited I am to have Ry back?! One of the things we enjoy doing most together, and as a result have missed most while being apart, is cooking and eating together! Dinners in the evening are what we look forward to during the day and it is our time to unwind and relax. Finally no more lonely nights on my sofa with Extra and Access Hollywood as my company! Last night, Ry surprised me with cooking a wonderful meal.
I came home to beautiful pink tulips on the table and a bottle of Ice Wine that he had brought from overseas. How sweet is that?! Since Ry knows all of my most favorite foods, he made me caramelized scallops with a carrot/corn puree and bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, basil, and feta. I loved it! The scallops were perfectly seared and the puree was slightly sweet and creamy. I was so impressed, what a great combination it was... I will definitely be getting used to this!

Welcome Home Surprise for Ry!

I am so happy and proud to announce that Ry has safely returned from his first 6 month deployment in Okinawa, Japan! What a long journey this has been for us but we finally made it and are excited to have our life back to normal. We woke up in the morning and first things first, we went to Peet's for coffee! I can't tell you how much I've missed our coffee dates together.

Then, being the sneaky wife that I am, I managed to pull off surprising Ry with a visit from our families! Trying to hide all the texts that were coming in during coffee, we headed back to our apartment to find Cliff, Marty, Lindsay and my parents outside! It was so special to have everyone there to welcome Ry back home.

I organized a lunch for all of us at The Westlake Village Inn, we had a fun lunch together on the patio and Ry got to tell us all that he had experienced. We had a welcome home tiramisu in his honor and were all so thankful for him to be back and safe. I can't wait to spend the next six months with him home, I will take advantage of every minute that I can!
