For our 6th year Anniversary we wanted nothing more than to enjoy it in the comfort of our new home! We have been running around every minute since we've moved in and we finally wanted time to just relax and absorb all the hard work we've put into moving, getting settled and the craziness of the holiday season. So we decided to make a fancy dinner together... we started off with our favorite Rombauer Zin and I whipped up a creamy risotto to stuff in portabella mushrooms...
We splurged at Whole Foods and bought 2 cuts of Filet Mignon... Ry worked his magic with grilling them perfectly. We sat down at our table, opened our cards and Ry gave me a beautiful orchid plant... we celebrated all that we have been through in the past 6 years and toasted to many more wonderful years together. Each year gets better and better and I am so thankful to have truly found my soul-mate in life! We finished off with baking mini carrot cakes and topped off our night with a soak in our new bath tub for the first time... a perfect celebratory night!
New Years Eve we had all these plans to go out after dinner for a drink to celebrate and instead we pooped out and stayed at home... again! We've had so many late nights and have been doing lots of drinking lately so we decided to watch the ball drop from our living room and toasted with Pellagrino and lemon wedges... boy we really must be getting old! We didn't care though, we enjoyed every minute and were refreshed without hangovers the next day haha. Happy New Year 2011!
