We had a two-day birthday celebration for Ry's 33rd! My mom threw Ry a little Czech Birthday Party Saturday night... my dad and Ry toasted with my Grandma's oldest Slivovic (a plum brandy) from 1981! For good luck!
Slivovic is a little too strong for the ladies so I toasted with wine of course :)
My mama made a delicious Czech dinner... a tenderloin beef roulade with salad and rice... it was sooooo yummy and the meat-loving birthday boy was very happy!
Then my mom surprised us with a traditional Czech cake made from scratch! A cocoa and walnut cake with a strawberry and chocolate cream and covered in a dark chocolate genache.. omg it was to die for!! The perfect birthday dinner.
Sunday, Ry's actual birthday, I surprised him and took him to the Pelican Hill Spa for the day... we took a spa yoga class, sat by the pool, had lunch, used the spa and Ry got a haircut and I a manicure.
We ended our relaxing day with tea and slices of my mom's cake... Ry loved his birthday getaway :)
On the way home we stopped off at Corona Del Mar beach and admired the beautiful coast line. Happy Birthday to my Love, hope this year brings you lots of health, happiness and success!
