We took Ry's Dental Conference in San Francisco as the perfect excuse to stay in SF for the night and meet his parents for lunch in Napa on Sunday! We stayed at our favorite hotel, The Harbor Court, reason being that it's right across from the Ferry Building (my favorite place EVER). I shopped around Union Square on Saturday, as Ry filled his brain with dental info, and then we met up at the Ferry Building.
We walked around all the amazing food purveyors and had a glass of wine at our favorite wine bar. I would seriously live in the Ferry Building if I could! It was such a gorgeous day in San Francisco... we really lucked out! For dinner that evening I wanted Ry to try Jardinere... we had an amazing dinner followed by a good nights' rest at The Harbor Court. In the morning we made one last visit to the Ferry Building for breakfast at Peet's before heading out to Napa to meet Marty and Cliff.
We got to Napa a little early and quickly drove by French Laundry... we one day hope to be lucky enough to dine here! Thomas Keller even has his own little garden where they grow their own organic veggies and herbs... so impressive!
After our pit stop, we got in touch with Cliff and Marty and met them the Cakebread Winery for a private reserve tasting that Marty organized for us...
We had delicious reserve wines and sat out on their adorable patio... it was sunny and beautiful, we really lucked out with such gorgeous weather!
After Cakebread, we made our way to another favorite.. Mumm, where we had champagne flights out on their glass terrace and then we finished off at our MOST favorite... Rombauer of course! By that time we were all ready to eat...
We had a delicious lunch on the terrace at The Silverado Resort... it was the perfect touch to our wine tasting day in Napa. Unfortunately after lunch, it was time to head back to San Francisco to make our flight back home... what an amazing weekend... conclusion: Ry needs to go to this dental conference every year!
