Wine Tasting in Santa Ynez & Solvang

Since we live so close to Santa Barbara, we decided to take a day trip to Santa Ynez for some wine tasting. A short hour and half later, we arrived to the Zaca Mesa Winery, where we tasted some great wines. Their tasting room area was fun, they had a life-size chess set!

After Zaca Mesa, we paid a visit to Firestone Winery to pay tribute to our Bachelor Andrew Firestone! It was fun being at his winery and it was super busy and popular.. I wonder why..

After Firestone, we went to Foxen Winery...

We tasted Foxen's wines out on their patio... we really lucked out with such beautiful weather.

Since it's September, we got to see a ton of grapes on the vine.. all ready to be picked for crush time... I decided to have a taste.. they were sweet and delicious- ready to be harvested soon!!

We tasted quite a bit and decided to have our picnic lunch outside since it was so nice... our sandwiches and picnic foods hit the spot! After lunch, we hit up one last winery at Curtis... they had beautiful murals on the walls and the wines were good.

After Curtis we were done with tasting... we had reached our limit! We decided to head into Solvang and explore the quaint little town.

It reminded us so much of Alsace, France and we pretended we were there in the barrel rooms! I found a cute Christmas shop and we got European ornaments to add to our collection, I can't wait to hang them on our tree.

Our last stop was Los Olivos where we stumbled up one last winery that was offering free tastings for military members... so we couldn't refuse!! We had one last taste and it was well worth it... Ry was famous there since he had served our country so well! What a perfect little get-away, we need to take advantage of visiting this area as much as we can while we are living here!
